Vital support for your role as an Educational Leader
Membership to the Victorian Principals Asssociation (VPA) is the most effective way to excel in your role. Network with peers, keep up-to-date with the most recent Education news, gain additional training and have your voice heard via representation at State, Federal and International levels.
Connected United and Empowered
The VPA is a professional association, formed to support and recognise the opportunities and challenges educational leaders face in their complex roles. The VPA also encourages and assists our leaders of tomorrow, with an ‘Associate Members’ category for educational leaders who currently hold the role of Leading Teacher.
One of the primary benefits of VPA membership is the ability to regularly network with your colleagues and peers from Victoria. Membership allows you access to an active network of almost 1000 Victorian educators just like yourself. From large scale annual events such as the VPA State Conference and Forum, to localised regional meetings and social functions, there's always an opportunity to join a VPA event and to meet with your peers. Share your thoughts, issues and concerns with like-minded individuals in stimulating and friendly environments.
Our Forums and Conference also feature prominent guest speakers discussing the topics that matter most to our Members.
All our members receive regular publications, such as the weekly VPA Members’ eLetter. Our eLetter is highly curated, topical and a one-stop-shop for accessing the resources that will help you perform in your role.
Professional Support and Assistance
VPA Member Advisors are available to provide confidential information and support in relation to your role as an educational leader. The VPA will also assist you with preparation for and appearances at: Work Safe, the Merit Protection Board and the Equal Opportunity Commission. We offer Project Services support in strategic, workforce and facilities planning, along with managing personnel, all from an independent and professional perspective. The VPA will provide three consultations per year for principal class members with a registered psychologist free of charge.
As one voice, the VPA represents members’ views to government and educational organisations and provides a voice through media and Position Papers on important member issues.
