Our Councillors gathered together at the Hyatt Essendon Fields on Friday 27th July for our July Council Meeting.
The day started off with VPA President, Anne-Maree Kliman, delivering her President's Report, before Lisa Gandolfo, Director of Service Design & Performance at DET, spoke about the new Child Information Sharing technology being developed to help schools track and monitor at risk kids. AITSL then presented their programs for leadership development, before Bruce Armstrong, Deputy Secretary of the Regional Services Group at DET, opened the floor to questions for his department. Our valued Platinum Business Partner Camp Australia took to the floor to discuss how they can work with schools to contribute to early childhood learning, before we broke for morning tea.
Our exciting new Gold Business Partner, Verso Learning, began the afternoon sessions by taking our Councillors through a presentation and a workshop to familiarise them with Verso's products and services and how they can enhance learning in schools. Andrew Taylor, Acting Director from the NDIS Reform Branch, then led a discussion about the NDIS reforms and took questions to discuss how the reforms will impact schools. Our Platinum Business Partner Sentral concluded the sessions through a series of demonstrations of how their products can positively impact on the classroom. The day was wrapped up with reports on VPA's 2018 Annual Conference and Principals' Day 2018.
