Leadership Focus

 The Journal for Australian School Leaders

'Leadership in Focus' is a national quarterly publication by the Victorian Principals Association (VPA), and comprises material selected for its relevance to school leaders. Many articles are written by school leaders, specifically for their colleagues.

'Leadership in Focus' provides a broad range of articles for school leaders, from the practical through to the theoretical. 'Global Campus' provides education news from overseas. There are also regular columns on information technology and news from the Australian state and territory principal associations.

'Leadership in Focus' is included as a benefit of membership for the VPA Members.

Summer 09 Issue

• Barrie T. Pennington argues that schools need to recognise, and cater for, the substantial and important differences in temperament of introverted students.
• Jill Reading and Kevin Daly look at professional development for e-learning and ask whether schools are strategic enough in managing this complex task.
• Justine Abel and Janene Randall look at three theoreis and recent research that underpin a model of leadership known in NSW as the School Leadership Capability Framework.
• Judy Willis, a neurologist and teacher, advocates teaching students about how they can develop their own brain, empowering them to take responsibility for their own learning.
• Geoffrey Caine focuses on instructional leadership and professional development for deep student learning.

'Leadership in Focus can be subscribed to on a yearly basis. Subscription commences on date of receipt of subscription form and continues over a 12 month period offering four editions of leadership articles. National and International Subscription is available.

'Leadership in Focus' is always seeking short articles from school leaders and other educationists on a broad range of topics relating to educational leadership.

Comments (up to 350 words), short articles (up to 700 words) and longer articles (up to 2,800 words) are sought for this years series of our principals' journal.
