Term 1 has been a really busy term in Victorian Government primary schools. Our school leaders need to be congratulated for their great achievements over this short term. The next few months will be an interesting time with both state and federal elections on the horizon.
2009 successes for the VPA:
The VPA welcomed 104 new members.
Huge improvements in the financial situation.
Doubled the number of Business Partners providing $180 000 of support for VPA members.
The number of Professional Learning events more than tripled to 34 activities involving 247 VPA members.
Highly successful Annual Conference with over 200 attendees.
2 School Resources Forums with VASSP focusing on BER and Staffing issues.
The VPA/VASSP/APF Memo of Agreement signed across the associations to work cooperatively and productively serving the needs of our constituencies. Formed an Office Charter.
VPA & VASSP Strategic Alliance with combined staff and shared Executive Officer, one budget bid to government and advocating strongly together for Victorian Principal Class Officers.
20 New Postion Papers coming from Hot Topics and member concerns representing the views of members - refer to Position Papers.
Advocating for members - big changes with English Online, BER projects, Finances and Staffing issues. The VPA has a strong voice working strategically with Government for our Members.

The VPA provides a range of professional development programs for Principals, Assistant Principals and aspiring School Leaders each term.
Programs are designed to meet the needs of members, and are run by the Association.
The 2010 VPA / VASSP combined Conference will be held on Monday 30 - Tuesday 31 August at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne.
It is centred on Creative Leadership and will be the Event for Victorian School Leaders in 2010.
